I defend men and women accused of crimes in Texas, and members of our Armed Forces in military courts-martial throughout the United States and worldwide. I have been a battle-tested trial lawyer since 1997, and I stand ready to personally represent you in your criminal case.

As a former active-duty officer in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps, a former child abuse investigator with Child Protective Services, and a former Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Fort Worth, Texas, I have extensive experience in case investigation, pre-trial negotiations with the prosecutor, complicated trial procedures and appeals.

Trust between a lawyer and his client is always absolutely critical.  I have to trust my clients to be honest with me in all respects.  And my clients have to trust me to always do my very best in representing them and presenting their case in the best possible light.  It’s easy for a person to say, “You can trust me.”  But our trust is betrayed all the time.  Certain corporations tell you to trust them, but then turn around and behave unethically towards their employees or the public.  Our government wants us to trust it, yet spends our taxes unwisely and often uses its authority abusively and unjustly.  And yes, sometimes we hire professionals – lawyers, doctors, accountants, and others – who fail to live up to our trust.

I believe that the attorney-client relationship is a sacred, mutual trust.  And trust should be earned.

And that’s why I don’t want you to trust me JUST BECAUSE I TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN.  I want us to sit down together, talk about your case, and for us to be able to look each other in the eye.  I never charge people money to come visit me for an initial consultation.  If you want to hire me as your counsel, and if I want to accept you as my client, then we can do so.  If not, then you still have my assurance that everything we talked about in my office will remain completely confidential.

Few decisions you make will be as important as who you choose to represent you in a criminal case.  You need and deserve to have a gut-level confidence in the lawyer you hire.
